Home repairs

So, Josh decided to rip off the mantel and fix the fireplace this year, that big white slab under the window is the marble for the hearth. He took out the fireplace insert and drywalled the interior space to give it more insulation. Now as I'm typing this, my fingers aren't frozen!

it's now back together and you'd never know it was taken apart.

This week, he had the oportunity to replace the sewer grinder in the basement which stopped working. I noticed a problem when the basement toilet started spitting at me, it got grossness all over. Then when Josh took apart part of the pipe, the pressure made it spray all over him and the area he was working in. Several hours and a lot of bleach later, and it too, is put back together.

Chocolate cake

I'm on the hunt to make a cake comparable to the one I love from Outback steakhouse, here is my first attempt. It was yummy, but not even close.

Abby after her first day at school, 9-16-10

10-21-10 I took Abby on her field trip with her pre-school today to the pumpkin patch. She really enjoyed picking out a pumpkin, riding on the hay ride, and learning about how a pumpkin grows. It was nice to spend some time with her. Of course, I forgot my camera. . . and phone.

I have finished the girls dresses for their princess costumes. Abby's underskirt is huge, I hope she can move in it. It's a bit too much, but I don't know how to fix it and I'm out of steam at this point.

Back from vacation

Beamer Family Girls in the Sand (and Dallin in the back)
Alex and Bradley hard at work
I don't know what I'm doing
Happy Crowe family at sunset

We got home from the Outer Banks North Carolina on Sat. Night. It was a good trip, except that several people got sick and on the way home I found out that my Dad has cancer.

Ta Da! the bathroom is done

finally, pictures.

I'm not crazy about the blinds. I think white would be better, what do you think?

Who needs Pottery Barn?

don't get me wrong, their stuffs nice and all, but I'm a bargain hunter and if I can get something considerably cheaper, I usually will.

I got these at JoAnns for 40% off and embroidered them myself. They'll do just fine. I just wish there was a better way to store them. They don't stack at all.

Nice days

The weather is beautiful! I've been enjoying being outside and going places with Abby, Tara, and Malias. We've been to the park, playgroups, and of course shopping.

It's wonderful having my sister here. I don't think I realized how stressed I was. I have almost completed the roman shade for the bathroon and I am going to embroider some basket liners for the kids easter baskets.

Josh is working hard trying to get a promotion. He's been overworked here lately. . .but hopefully it will be a blessing in the end.

The kids are all riding their bikes and playing outside which makes me and them much happier. We all were in need of some excercise and sunshine!

none

so, we survived the snow and now we have mush for grass and broken trees and shrubs. At least we've had company! Tara and Kenny and Malias have been with us and we've enjoyed them.

The Master bath is finished, and now I'm working on being a better Mom.

Alex and Amber are starting soccer tomorrow, they're so excited!

Josh is busy trying to get promoted at work and getting beaten up at basketball--those boys love hitting him in the face!
